CORNER OF THE BOX

I want to climb
into the corner of a box,
into the one on the lowest shelf,
in the furthest corner of the room.

I will hide inside,
in the corner of the box,
so no one will see me,
and if someone came into the room,
I could watch them
but they would never know I’m there.

I will be safe.

No one to touch me.
No one to hurt me.
No one to scare me.

No one.
Not anymore.
If I hide in the corner of the box,
on the lowest shelf,
in the furthest corner of the room.
