MUSIC BOOK INSPIRED
Written, composed and created by Candice Rijavec, with the support of creative tools that helped bring the emotion to life.
Inspired by the book “Ashes Of The Crown“
I swore I’d never burn again…
But here I am — sparking from the inside.
They told me to hide it, bury the flame
Said I was danger with no one to blame
Carved their fear in the back of my name
But I’m done playing that game
Footsteps on ash, thunder in my chest
I’ve been afraid — but I’ve faced what’s left
Rise from the ashes, I’m not your mistake
I learned to stand from all I had to break
Every scar is a crown, every scream is a vow
I’m fire, I’m fury, and I won’t burn out now
They feared what they made
But I won’t fade
I’m still here
Even if I have to rise alone
Rise from the ashes, I’m not your regret
This crown of ash is the best one yet
Let it burn…
Let it make me.
Inspired by the book “For The Broken“
With me, what you see is what you get
No illusions, no regrets
There are no two sides to this
I don’t pretend, I don’t resist
The only mask I’ll ever wear
Is the one hiding heartbreak and despair
Sometimes I wear it so well
Even I forget I’m in this hell
But one trip, one fall,
And the pieces shatter from it all
I see the truth I try to hide
The brokenness I carry inside
Pick it up, piece by piece
Patch the pain, try to find peace
Just enough to face the day
Just enough to keep them all away
That’s why I walk this world alone
Keep my heart under lock and stone
Life whispered something cruel and loud—
“Abused love’s better than none allowed”
No one stays, no one heals
They just repeat the way it feels
So I let no one see too deep
Guard the wounds I barely keep
But one trip, one fall,
And the pieces shatter from it all
I see the truth I try to hide
The brokenness I carry inside
Pick it up, piece by piece
Patch the pain, try to find peace
Just enough to face the day
Just enough to keep them all away
If I let you in, it’s real
If I show you what I feel
It means I trust you near this heart
So fragile, torn apart
You hold a loaded gun—don’t shoot
I’m barely holding on to truth
Please don’t add to the pain
I can’t rebuild this mask again…
One trip, one fall,
And I might not rise at all
This mask I wear to stay alive
Might not survive another lie
So if I let you see inside
Please don’t leave, please don’t hide
You’re holding more than just my name
You’re holding all I’ve done to stay sane
Please…
Don’t pull the trigger.

Sing a siren song…
To call the sailors along…
Draw them in,
Watch it all begin.
Mesmerizing, hypnotizing,
Eyes wide, no realizing…
Down they go,
To the depths below.
A kiss of seafoam,
A grave unknown.
They drown, they die…
But why, oh why?
Let them not die in vain—
Let them feel the weight of pain.
For every heart they left broken,
For every tear on lips unspoken.
Sing it sweet,
Sing it sharp—
A lullaby for shattered hearts.
They whispered so sweetly,
Then shattered you completely.
Sailed away like ghosts in skin—
Now the tide is pulling them in.
Let the sea remember each name,
Let the waves echo back the shame.
They drown, they die…
But why, oh why?
Let them not die in vain—
Let them feel the weight of pain.
For every heart they left broken,
For every tear on lips unspoken.
Sing it loud,
Sing it true—
This is what the betrayed must do.
Now it must end…
This tide won’t bend.
For all those left in pain…
I will defend.
I will defend.
They drown, they die…
But why, oh why?
Let them not die in vain—
Let them feel the weight of pain.
For every soul they pulled apart,
For every cursed and bleeding heart…
Sirens rise,
Justice sings—
The sea will claim their pretty things.
Sing a siren song…
To call the sailors along…

You thought I was done.
You should’ve burned the ashes too.
You preached with poison on your tongue,
Played the saint while loading your gun.
But baby, I ain’t the girl you knew —
I bit the chain and came for you.
You lit the fire thinkin’ I’d fold,
But I turned heat into solid gold.
Ashes don’t lie — I’m the flame you fear,
Built from rage and every tear.
You wore the cross, I bore the brand,
Now I’m the reckoning at your command.
You had your throne, now watch it fry —
Ashes. Don’t. Lie.
You stitched your lies into Sunday lace,
Blessed your sins with a holy face.
But I ain’t kneelin’ — I’m burnin’ through,
Hell opened wide… and I walked too.
You made your play, I made mine louder,
You built a church — I built a power.
Ashes don’t lie — I rose, I roared,
You took the light, but I cut the cord.
Every bruise is a warcry now,
You better pray, but I don’t bow.
Say goodbye to your alibi —
Ashes. Don’t. Lie.
I saw your truth behind that grin.
You kissed the knife and pulled me in.
But now I bite, and now I burn —
Tables flipped — it’s your turn.
Ashes don’t lie — I scorch, I slay,
You ran your mouth — now it’s judgement day.
You wrote the end in smoke and lies,
But I rewrote it when I rise.
You’re outta time —
Ashes. Don’t. Lie.
You built a fire.
But I became it.
