MUSIC OUTRUN THE WIND

Written, composed and created by Candice Rijavec, with the support of creative tools that helped bring the emotion to life.

Running… running… still can’t hide…
He’s already there…

You tied your shoes at dawn again,
Eyes fixed on roads that twist and bend.
Chasing quiet, dodging signs—
You swear this time you’ll leave Him behind.

You’re counting steps, not counting cost,
Each breath reveals what’s really lost.
The wind that wraps around your face—
It’s not escape. It’s just His grace.

You race through trees, outrun the light,
But even shadows cling to fight…

You can’t outrun the wind—
He’s the breath inside your chest.
The faster that you flee,
The more your soul confesses.
He’s already where you’re going,
He was always where you’ve been…
You can’t outrun the wind.
You can’t outrun… Him.

You change your name, your look, your tone,
You edit truths you’ve always known.
But every version that you spin—
The breeze keeps blowing truth back in.

You drown in noise, deny the flame,
Yet still your silence speaks His name.
Even when your dreams collapse—
He’s planting roots that pull you back.

You dodge the sky, avoid the sound—
But even echoes chase you down…

You can’t outrun the wind—
He’s the whisper through the storm.
The faster that you run,
The more your soul is born.
He’s the rhythm in your breathing,
He’s the pulse beneath your skin…
You can’t outrun the wind.
You can’t outrun… Him.

You’re not being hunted…
You’re being held.
Each step you take—
Still, He’s compelled.

He’s not behind you.
He’s within.
And all your running—
Just leads back to Him.

You can’t outrun the wind—
He’s the air you take for free.
Each gasp you breathe,
Cries out to Majesty.
He’s the start, He’s the end,
He’s the stillness… He’s the spin…
You can’t outrun the wind.

You can’t outrun… Him.

It’s hard to trust when you can’t see
When shadows dance where hope should be
And every voice inside your head
Tells you to turn and run instead
But there’s a flicker through the black
A steady glow that calls you back
You don’t have to know the way
Just take one step — and let it stay

You’re not too lost to find
What’s always been aligned

Follow the the light — the Lantern — when your vision shakes
Even if you fall, He’ll meet you at the break
You’re not alone, not forgotten, not too far gone
Even in silence, the light still shone
Don’t be afraid of what you feel
The ache is proof that something’s real
So if the world around you slips — just know
You’re still being led home

I’m not the flame, just standing near
But you can reach it, even through fear
The path is wild, the storm is loud
But the light won’t flicker out
Don’t measure steps by who you were
Just trust the pull you barely heard
You don’t owe an answer yet
Just take the breath you haven’t let

You’ve walked through fire and ash alone
But grace has traced your every bone
And every stumble, every scar
Is what will guide you where you are

Follow the light — the Lantern — through the noise and night
Even if you crawl, you’re still in sight
You’re not too broken, not too late to rise
Even now, you’re seen through His eyes
Don’t be ashamed of all you fear
You’re being called because you’re near
So if you can’t speak or move — just know
The Light already knows

So take the step, or stay awhile
Even still, you’re held in trial
When you can’t move, when you can’t see
The light — the Lantern waits —

Patiently

You thought I left… didn’t you?

I saw you slip beneath the noise,
Drown in silence, lose your voice.
Fists clenched, holding back every flood.
Thought you could hide your heartache,
Even from Me — even from love.
But I’ve traced every tremble,
Every “I’m fine” you choked down deep.

You’ve been waiting on the storm to pass
But I came to stay through the flood.
I don’t need sunshine to prove I’m good.
I need the dark…
to prove I never left.

I never left.
Not when you screamed.
Not when you shattered.
Not when you bled on your knees.
I never left —
I just stepped behind
The veil of your fear
Till you opened your eyes.
I was never gone…
I just stayed where you broke —
To prove I don’t leave
When the darkness spoke.

You thought My silence meant I turned away.
But I was the roar behind the waves.
I broke the gates you didn’t see.
I held the blade so it wouldn’t reach.
You don’t know what I’ve fought for you.
But one day, you’ll feel the cost —
And realize you were never lost.

I saw the war behind your eyes.
Heard every lie you tried to fight.
You prayed to be rescued…
But I was already bleeding beside you.
You screamed for help —
But I held the line when darkness clawed through.
You didn’t need Me to come —
You needed to see I never ran.
You called My name…
I was holding your hand.

I never left.
Not through your shame.
Not in the silence.
Not through the blame.
I never left —
I walked through the fire
While you turned your face,
But I stood higher.
I was the roar
When you lost your breath…
And I’ll be your peace
Until your death.
I never left.
I never left.

I never left… I’m still here.
